People who are frightened of flying tell this site things they would not tell a normal search engine. That deserves a short, specific answer about what we keep — not three pages of hedging.

What we hold

Your email address. It is how you sign in and how we reach you about your membership. There is no password, so we hold no password.

Your searches. The sentences you type, and what you did next — whether you opened a flight or asked again a different way. These are attached to your account, and they are also how the site learns. When enough people phrase a request the same way, we record what that phrasing means so the next person gets an answer faster. What is learned is the wording, not you: the dictionary holds a stripped, anonymous form of the sentence and what it resolved to, with no link back to who typed it.

What you say about a flight afterwards. If you tell us how a flight actually felt, we keep that against the flight so the forecast can be corrected. It is the only real way to check whether the ranking works.

Flights you save, and your preferences — the airports you fly from, whether you want nonstop only, whether you avoid small aircraft.

Your membership status. Which plan, whether it is active, when it renews. This comes from Stripe.

We do not hold your card. Payment runs on Stripe's own pages. Card numbers never reach this site, so they cannot leak from it. We can see the last four digits and the card brand, which is what Stripe shows us.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not put advertising trackers on this site, and there is no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics and no third-party advertising script anywhere in it.

We do not build a profile of your fear for anyone else's benefit.

Who else touches it

Three companies process data on our behalf, and only what they need:

Supabase stores the database and runs sign-in. Stripe handles payment and holds your billing details. Vercel serves the site and keeps short-lived server logs that include IP addresses, as any web host does.

We also send anonymous queries to AeroDataBox for departure boards, Open-Meteo for weather, and Anthropic to turn your sentence into a search. Anthropic receives the text of your question and no identifying information about you — not your email, not your account, not your IP address.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. Your sign-in is kept in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in between visits. Clearing your browser data signs you out and removes it.

How long we keep it

Account details and saved flights stay until you delete your account. Searches are kept for twelve months and then removed. Server logs are kept for as long as our host keeps them, which is a matter of days.

Your say over it

You can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it. Email hello@relaxedflyer.com from the address on your account and we will do it within 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your profile, saved flights, preferences and searches. Records of payments we are required to keep for tax and accounting stay with Stripe.

If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with a privacy law such as California, you have these rights by statute and we apply them to everyone regardless.

Children

This service is for adults. We do not knowingly hold data about anyone under 18. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Each member's records are separated at the database level so one account cannot read another's, and that separation is tested rather than assumed. No system is perfect; if we ever have a breach that affects you, we will tell you.

Who is responsible

To be completed before launch: the legal entity that controls this data and its registered address. Until that is filled in this page is incomplete.
